The Ogee type spillway is one of the most preferred sluice types due to its functional suitability and high safety factor. In order to control discharges and water levels in the reservoir, spillways have many uses for reducing water level in emergency situations such as reducing water level, maintaining normal river functions and draining water. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the flow of ogee type spillway in open channels in laboratory environments and to simulate it with numerical model. The physical model is modeled in two different programs as open source and commercial package program. Flow depths of the models were measured at four determined points. K-? and K-? SST turbulence models were used in numerical analysis. According to the results obtained, it has been proven that the numerical tools are sufficiently developed to simulate the flow depths and water surface profiles.
