Mukarnas Algoritmasının Bilgisayar Destekli Çözümlemeleri: Anadolu Örneklerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

İslam mimarisinin karakteristik öğelerinden biri olan mukarnas, yan yana ve üst üste eklenmiş prizmatik birimlerden oluşmaktadır. Zengin görsel etkisinin yanı sıra strüktürel ve matematiksel arka planı ile mukarnas tasarımı bütüncül bir yaklaşım şeklinde ele alınmalıdır. Yapım tarihi, bölgesi ve malzemesi üzerinden değerlendirildiğinde her bir mukarnas uygulamasının farklı metotlar ile üretildiği gözlenmiştir. Tasarım ve yapım tekniği analizlerinin genelleştirilmesi sonucunda farklı mukarnas üretim metotlarının anlaşılmaması, koruma ve onarım sorunları ve yeni yapılan örneklerde uygulama hataları gibi sorunlar ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Çalışmada incelenen Anadolu Selçuklu Devleti (1075-1308) ve sonrası dönemlerde uygulanmış mukarnas örneklerinin, diğer örneklerden ayrılarak malzeme kullanımı, strüktürel ve dekoratif detayları ile özgün bir tasarım-yapım sürecine sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Çalışmada genel bağlamda mukarnasın dönemsel gelişimi, tasarım ve üretim aşamaları ve güncel uygulamalardaki kullanımı ayrı başlıklar altında irdelenmiş ve yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucunda incelenen mukarnas örnekleri için alternatif bir yöntem belirlenmiştir. Geleneksel kurallar çerçevesinde belirlenen bu yönteme dayalı özgün bir mukarnas denemesi yapılmıştır. Özgün mukarnas denemesinin tasarım aşaması Unity oyun motoruna aktarılarak simüle edilerek 'Anadolu Mukarnası' uygulamasına dönüştürülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda incelenen örneklere dayalı mukarnas üretim yöntemi belirlenmiş ve yeni mukarnas tasarımı denemeleri yapılmıştır.

One of the characteristic elements of Islamic architecture muqarnas consists of prismatic units attached side by side and on top of each other. Besides its visual impact, the design of muqarnas should be considered as a holistic approach with its structural and mathematical background. When evaluated on the date of construction, region and material, it is observed that each muqarnas practice is produced with different methods. As a result of the generalisation design and construction techniques, problems such as not understanding different muqarnas production methods, conservation and repair challenges and contruction errors in new practices may arise. The muqarnas examples examined in the study were constructed in Anatolian Seljuks (1075-1308) and later periods, differ from other samples and have a unique design-making process with the use of materials, structural and decorative details. In the study, the historical development of muqarnas, its design and production stages, and use in current practices were examined under separate chapters and an alternative method was determined for the examined muqarnas samples. An original muqarnas experiment was made based on this method determined within the framework of traditional rules. The design phase of the original muqarnas experiment was transferred to the Unity game engine and turned into a simulated 'Anatolian Muqarnas' application. As a result of the study, the muqarnas production method based on the samples examined was determined and new muqarnas design trials were carried out.
