Article Citation - Scopus: 4Analysis of the Studies Done on Laboratories in Turkey(Ekip Buro Makineleri A., 2020) Yener, Dündar; Köklü, Niğmet; Yamaç, Ramazan Ziya; Yalçın, SeherThe aim of this study is to determine the trend of studies in the laboratory and put the current situation in Turkey. For this purpose, document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The data group of the research consists of thesis studies on laboratories in our country between 1999-2017. Theses in the fields of science, physics, chemistry, and biology have been determined and themes and sub-themes have been created through the keywords of these theses. Then, frequency tables were created according to the themes and sub-themes created. According to the findings obtained, it was seen that the traditional laboratory approach and inquiry-based laboratory approaches are compared in the studies. It was determined that the studies were done on physics subjects and it was determined that complementary measurement and evaluation studies performed for performance evaluation were used in very few numbers. In addition, it was concluded that the keywords did not give enough information about the studies. In this context, it can be suggested to examine the effectiveness of these approaches according to each other and experiment types by examining the approaches in which students can be more active in laboratories. © 2020. Çünkü daha esnek ve başarılıdırlar. Bu nedenle, Çok Kriterli Karar Verme problemlerinin aralık tip-2 bulanık sayılar ile entegre edilmesi karar verme sürecinde avantajlar sağlayacaktır. Öte yandan, karar vericinin etki derecesini yansıtmak için insan duyarlılığının kullanılmasını gerektiren karar verme sürecinin karma bir analizi bulanık kural tabanı ile ifade edilebilir. Bu çalışmada, uzman görüşleri de dikkate alınarak uygun tedarikçi seçimi için üç kriter altında üç alternatifin sıralanması; öncelikle Kahraman ve ark. (2014) tarafından önerilen kural tabanı olmayan Aralık Tip-2 Bulanık Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi Yöntemi kullanılmış, daha sonra ise alternatiflerin sıralanması bu çalışma kapsamında önerilen Aralık Tip-2 Bulanık-Kural Tabanlı Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi ile yapılmıştır. İki yöntem sonucunda elde edilen sıralama sonuçları üzerinde Kendall Tau Korelasyonuna dayalı Sıralama Performansı Değerlendirmesi işlemi yapılmış ve elde edilen sonuçlardan Aralık Tip-2 Bulanık- Kural Tabanlı Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi ile yapılan sıralama performansının daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca yapılan uygulama çalışması sonucunda, uygulanan Aralık Tip-2 Bulanık Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi Yönteminin, firmalar için tedarikçi seçiminde kullanılabileceği ortaya konulmuştur.Article Balancing Disassembly Line Under Hazardous Parts With Precise and Fuzzy Goals(2022) Hezer, Seda; Kara, YakupDisassembly is one of the steps of the recovery activities. Since it includes expensive processes, disassembly shoul be performed with the system that provides efficient and effective outputs. A disassembly line is the most suitable system for disassembly of the returned products. A disassembly line balancing problem (DLBP) is assigning disassembly tasks to consecutive workstations by satisfying a series of constraints and optimizing one or more than one goal. In this paper, the DLBP with multiple conflicting goals which takes into account the negative zone (DLBP-Z) constraints has been proposed. Negative zone constraint is related to hazardous parts. If there are hazardous part/parts in the product and they need to be removed, they may damage the othetr parts and disassembly line. Therefore, these parts must be assigned to different stations from the other parts. Goal programming (GP) and fuzzy goal programming (FGP) approaches have been proposed in order to optimize three conflicting goals, namely total net recovery profit value, the number of parts to be removed for recycling and cycle time. Through a numerical example, the proposed approaches have been tested and goal programming formulations have been shown to be valid and useful. To the best of the authors knowledge, the proposed GP and FGP models are the first multi citeria decision making (MCDM) approaches for DLBP-Z.Article Beklemesiz Akış Tipi Çizelgeleme Problemlerinin Analizi ve Hibrit Dağınık Arama Yöntemi ile Çözümü(2022) Başar, Ramazan; Engin, OrhanBeklemesiz Akış Tipi Çizelgeleme (BATÇ), pratik uygulamalarından dolayı kapsamlı bir araştırma alanıdır. BATÇ problemlerinde işler, makinelerde kesintisiz olarak işlem görmek zorundadır. Bir işin tüm makinelerde işlenme süresi boyunca, makineler bekleyebilir fakat işler kesintisiz olarak işlenmelidir. Amaç ise makinelerin boşta bekleme süresini en aza indirmektir. BATÇ problemlerinin çoğunluğunda toplam gecikmenin ve maksimum tamamlanma zamanının minimizasyonu olmak üzere, iki performans ölçüsü göz önünde bulundurulur. Literatürde, son yirmi beş yılda BATÇ ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalar analiz edilmiştir. BATÇ problemlerinin çözümü ile ilgili geliştirilen kesin ve yaklaşık çözüm veren yöntemler incelenmiştir. Literatürde 1 ve 2 makineli problemler için optimum çözüm veren matematiksel yöntemler bulunurken, 3 ve daha fazla makineli problemler için standart zamanda optimum çözüm veren bir yöntem bulunmamaktadır. Kabul edilebilir bir süre içerisinde m makine içeren problemlere optimum ya da optimuma yakın çözümler üretebilmek için sezgisel ve meta sezgisel yöntemler geliştirilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, BATÇ problemlerinin çözümü için Hibrit Dağınık Arama (HDA) yöntemi önerilmiştir. Önerilen yöntem, literatürde iyi bilinen kıyaslama problemleri yardımı ile test edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, Hibrit Uyarlanabilir Öğrenme Yaklaşım (HUÖY) algoritması ve Hibrit Karınca Kolonileri Optimizasyon (HKKO) algoritması ile kıyaslanmıştır. Amaç fonksiyonu olarak maksimum tamamlanma zamanının minimizasyonu seçilmiştir. While the quantity of products ordered has been decreasing in recent years, the number of orders has been increasing. This situation leads to higher logistics costs and more attempts to control logistics costs by business managers. One way to decrease logistics costs is the optimization of traveled distances. The Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) attempts to optimize travel distances by changing the order of the locations to be visited. By doing so, it reduces the logistics costs associated with travel distances. However, there are also some parameters of logistics costs that are not related to travel distances. This paper examines the effects of optimization results by TSP on logistics costs, using seven different methods to consider a real logistics problem, and comparing the results. Nowadays solar energy is paid more attention due to decrease in fossil fuels and increase in energy prices. In this study, a single pass, forced convective solar air collector has been designed, manufactured and analysed experimentally under climatic conditions of Konya/Turkey. Experiments have been conducted at three different mass flow rates, on different days and under clear weather conditions. Hourly variation of solar radiation, inlet and outlet air temperatures, glass cover temperature, absorber plate temperature and thermal efficiency of the solar air collector have been examined by using the experimental data obtained. It is seen that with the increase in mass flow rate, temperature of the air at the outlet of the collector decreases while thermal efficiency of the collector increases.Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Estimation of Turkey’s Natural Gas Consumption by Machine Learning Techniques(2020) Erdem, Osman Emin; Kesen, Saadettin ErhanTechnological advancements coupled with growing world population require the increasing need of energy. Natural gas is one of the most important usable energy resources. Turkey is with high external dependency on energy as it has its own limited natural and underground energy resources. Thus, in order to effectively and productively use of natural gas purchased from foreign countries and to make reliable and robust energy policies for the years ahead, it is crucial to make a reasonable and plausible prediction for natural gas consumption of Turkey. In this paper, we estimate the natural gas consumption using machine learning techniques on the basis of real monthly data representing natural gas consumption of Turkey between the years 2010 and 2018. The performances of machine learning techniques involving Artificial Neural Networks, Random Forest Tree, Regression, Time Series and Multiple Seasonality Time Series are compared in predicting the natural gas consumption of Turkey. Experimental results show that among the five techniques, artificial neural networks produce the best estimation, having the lowest mean square errors, followed by regression method. Time series shows the worst performance among all the techniques.Article Citation - WoS: 9Forward Supply Chain Network Design Problem: Heuristic Approaches(2018) Koç, Çağrı; Özceylan, Eren; Kesen, Saadettin Erhan; Çil, Zeynel Abidin; Mete, SüleymanDetermining positions and counting of actors, amount of product flow between and decreasing transportation costs are handled as a network design problem in supply chain management. Supply chain network design (SCND) problem belongs to the class of NP-hard problems. It has therefore appealed to a number of researchers’ close attention. However, existing literature lacks of common benchmark instances for forward SCND problems so as to make a fair comparison between developed and applied heuristic approaches. To this end, 450 new benchmark instances ranging from small to large size for forward SCND problems with two, three and four-echelon are generated and a mathematical model for each of the problems is formulated. Due to the complexity issues, we develop two heuristic solution approaches, genetic algorithm (GA) and hybrid heuristic algorithm (HHA), and we apply them to the large pool of benchmark instances. Comparative experiments show that both the GA and HHA can yield feasible solutions in much less computational time and, in particular, outperforms CPLEX regarding the solution quality as the number of echelon grows.Article GÜNEŞ ENERJİSİ KOLEKTÖRÜ ÜRETİMİNDE KAYNAK BAĞIMLI GÖREV SÜRELERİ İLE PARALEL MONTAJ HATTI DENGELEME(Konya Technical University, 2021) Atasagun, Yakup; Kara, YakupBu çalışmada, Konya’da faaliyet gösteren ve güneş enerjisi kolektörü üreten bir firmanın montaj hatlarında kaynak bağımlı görev süreleri ile paralel montaj hattı dengeleme uygulaması yapılmıştır.Öncelikle ilgili firmanın montaj hattı tanıtılmış ve kaynak bağımlı görev süreleri ile hat dengeleme yaklaşımını kullanmanın son derece uygun olduğunu göstermek amacıyla montaj hattındaki görevlerin farklı kaynak alternatifleri ile farklı sürelerde tamamlanma seçenekleri ortaya koyulmuştur. Daha sonra, karar vericiler tarafından mevcut montaj hattı ile aynı özelliklere sahip ikinci bir montaj hattının kurulmasına karar verildiği ve yeni kurulacak hattın mevcut hatta paralel bir şekilde yerleştirilerek faaliyet göstereceğinden hareketle bahsi geçen bu iki montaj hattının paralel montaj hattı dengeleme yaklaşımı ile bütünleşik olarak dengelenmesi yapılmıştır. Uygulama sonucu, bahsi geçen firmanın montaj hatlarının, karar vericiler tarafından planlanan çevrim süresi değeri için kaynak bağımlı görev süreleriyle paralel hat dengeleme yaklaşımı kullanılarak bütünleşik olarak dengelenmesinin, hatların birbirinden bağımsız dengelenmesi durumuna kıyasla aylık toplam maliyette % 5,67 oranında bir iyileştirme sağladığı belirlenmiştir. Aynı hatların beş farklı çevrim süresi değeri için dengelenmesiyle yapılan senaryo analizinde de kaynak bağımlı görev süreleriyle paralel hat dengeleme yaklaşımının bağımsız dengeleme yaklaşımına göre toplam maliyeti iyileştirme oranları ortalaması % 8,09 olarak elde edilmiştir.Article İKİ AMAÇLI FARKLI MAKİNE SEÇENEKLİ KAPALI DÖNGÜ TEDARİK ZİNCİRİ OPTİMİZASYONU: BULANIK ÇÖZÜM TEKNİĞİ UYGULAMASI(2019) Engin, Batuhan Eren; Paksoy, TuranTedarik zinciri yönetimi, küreselleşme çağının başlangıcından beri akademisyenlerin ve uygulayıcıların artan ilgisini çekmeye devam etmiştir. Son yıllarda, tedarik zinciri yönetiminin odak noktası, enerji tüketimi, karbon emisyonları gibi ekonomik, sosyal ve çevresel yönlerin ortaklaşa ele alındığı sürdürülebilir akış yönetimi olmaya başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, çok dönemli kapalı döngü tedarik zinciri ağ tasarım probleminin optimizasyonu için iki amaçlı karmaşık tamsayılı doğrusal programlama modelinin formüle edilmesi ve çözülmesi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Model, farklı makine tiplerinde faaliyet gösteren tesislerin toplam operasyon maliyeti ve toplam karbon emisyonları olmak üzere iki ayrı amacın minimizasyonunu hedeflerken, üretim ve dağıtım stratejilerini belirlemekte ve yeni veya eski tip makinelerin kullanımına da karar vermektedir. Daha eski ve güncel olmayan makinelerin ilk satın alma maliyeti, yeni ve güncellenmiş makinelere göre daha düşük olmasına rağmen, eski makineler, saat başına daha yüksek maliyetle çalışırken yeni makinelere göre saat başına daha fazla karbon salmaktadır. Ayrıca, bir saat içinde üretilen ürünlerin sayısı, yani üretkenlik, yeni makinelerde daha üstündür. Bu iki amaçlı kapalı döngü tedarik zinciri modelinin çözümü için bulanık ağırlıklandırma yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar, üretimde yeni nesil teknolojilere yatırım yapılmasının hem ekonomik hem de çevresel amaçlara ulaşmak için önemli olduğunu göstermektedir.Article Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Rule-Based Bwm Approach for Sustainable Supplier Selection(2022) Öztürk, Müslüm; Torğul, Belkız; Paksoy, TuranFuzzy logic is a theory based on human-specific approximate reasoning. Therefore, fuzzy logic applications can bring simple and more effective solutions to situations that classical methods cannot overcome. The type-1 fuzzy set is a set, which has a continuous (crisp) membership degree to which a membership degree between 0 and 1 is assigned, and is characterised by membership functions. Type-2 fuzzy sets, which have the power to express uncertainty better, are expressed by membership functions, where the membership degrees of each element belonging to that set also specify a fuzzy set.Therefore, type-2 fuzzy sets allow us to include the membership functions uncertainty in fuzzy set theory. Using expert knowledge and using sensitivity of human to reflect the level of the decision maker influence is expressed as a fuzzy rule based system. Recently, it has been seen that fuzzy rules are frequently used together with multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods. Again, combining fuzzy rules with type-2 fuzzy numbers is also found. In this study, the Best Worst Method (BWM), one of the MCDM methods, has been integrated with fuzzy rules based interval type-2. The developed hybrid method was defined as Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Rule-Based BWM (IT2 FRB BWM). The proposed hybrid method has an important place when there are alternatives with similar ranking positions. Thus, even if there is a small difference in each alternative, it will show the difference better (more sensitively). This makes the proposed hybrid method forceful and unique.The proposed approach has been applied to a sustainable supplier selection problem comparatively with the BWM. The results show that the IT2 FRB BWM approach is more successful in ordering alternatives than the classical BWM method.Article Konya İlinde Bulunan Özel Hastanelerdeki Hizmet Kalitesinin Ölçülmesi: Akademik Personele Yönelik Araştırma [article](2019) Güler, Büşra; Kesen, Saadettin ErhanHastanelerin sürekli gelişme göstererek kalitelerini artırmak, hastanın ihtiyaç ve beklentilerine cevap vermek sağlık sistemi içerisindeki rolünün gereğidir. Artan rekabete sahne olan sağlık sektöründe hastaneler başarılı olabilmek için teknolojik gelişmelere dayalı hizmet kalitesini artırmalıdırlar. Hastanelerdeki hizmet kalitesinin yükselmesi hastaların memnuniyet düzeyinin artmasını ve rekabette öne geçmelerini sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmada Konya’da bulunan özel hastanelerin sundukları hizmet kalitesinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Konya’da bulunan devlet üniversiteleri Konya Teknik, Selçuk ve Necmettin Erbakan üniversitelerinde çalışmakta olan akademik personel araştırmanın örneklem grubunu oluşturmuştur. Akademik personelin özel hastanelerdeki hizmet kalitesi boşluğu (algılama-beklenti) SERVQUAL (Service Quality Scale-Hizmet Kalitesi Ölçeği) ölçeği kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Veriler SPSS 20 istatistiksel paket programı kullanılarak hizmet kalite boşluğu üzerinden analiz edilerek yorumlanmıştır.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 4A Mathematical Model for Multi-Period Multi-Stage Multi-Mode Multi-Product Capacitated Wheat Supply Network Design Problem and a Case Study(GAZI UNIV, FAC ENGINEERING ARCHITECTURE, 2022) Dündar, Abdullah Oktay; Tekin, Mahmut; Peker, Kenan; Şahman, Mehmet Akif; Karaoğlan, İsmailPurpose: The purpose of this paper is to develop a cost-effective network design model, including transport and storage that will enable a decision at a tactical and strategic level to be taken to optimize the structure of the Turkey wheat supply chain. Theory and Methods: The proposed model was developed using 0-1 mixed integer linear programming. First, the model was tested with the data obtained from the interviews with 103 farmers to investigate whether the model worked properly. Then, the case study method was used to test the model with the data obtained from a Flour Mill Company which is one of the first 500 industrial enterprises in Turkey. Results: The results were obtained by using IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio 12.6.2.0. Although farmers used eighteen different-capacity vehicles for transport, five different-capacity vehicles were used in the model. Smaller capacity vehicles were used by the farmers; however, the model proposed larger-capacity vehicles. Wheat was transported by farmers with 10-ton vehicles using 100 trips, 20-ton vehicles using 115 trips and 30-ton vehicles using 13 trips. However, the model proposed transportation using 10-ton vehicles and 13 trips, 20-ton vehicles and 22 trips and 30-ton vehicles and 151 trips. The proposed model reduced the number of smaller-capacity vehicle trips and increased the number of larger-capacity vehicle trips. As a result, the model has significantly reduced total transportation costs in wheat supply chain in Turkey. Conclusion: In this study, a mathematical model for multi-period multi-stage multi-mode multi-product capacitated was developed for wheat supply chain in Turkey. The developed supply network design model selected a vehicle of the appropriate capacity to suit the amount of load to be transported in the wheat supply chain and decrease the number of vehicle trips. This improvement gained by the model can be applied to other sectors. The model showed that supply warehouses, which have been considered for rental to the private sector, can be effectively used for cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the consolidation of the purchased wheat provides an alternative way for the wheat to be transported, in particular by rail.Article Citation - Scopus: 2Mathematical Programming Based Heuristic Approach for Two-Echelon Vehicle Routing Problem With Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery(Gazi Universitesi, 2021) Belgin, Ö.; Karaoğlan, İ.; Altıparmak, F.In this study, the two-echelon vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pickup and delivery (2E-VRPSPD) is considered. A two-index node-based mixed integer programming (MIP) formulation is developed for the problem and then valid inequalities are used to strengthen the formulation. Moreover, several variants of the 2E-VRPSPD are introduced and the MIP formulation is adapted for these variants. To solve the problem and its variants, a matheuristic algorithm based on variable neighborhood descent algorithm with local search and mathematical programming is proposed. The performance of the proposed matheuristic is analyzed on 2E-VRPSPD and each variant of the problem using test problems derived from the literature. The experimental studies indicate that 390 out of 564 test instances up to 10 depots and 100 customers are solved to optimality for the base problem 2E-VRPSPD. Similar satisfactory results are also obtained for the other variants of the problem using same data sets. © 2021 Gazi Universitesi Muhendislik-Mimarlik. In a two-echelon distribution network consisting of factories, warehouses and customers, the aim is to determine which facilities will be opened in which candidate regions and routing activities to be carried out among them. Routing activities include distributing and collecting activities. While distributing activities are performed from primary facilities (factory) to secondary facilities (depots) and secondary facilities to customers, collecting activities are done from customers to the secondary facilities and from secondary facilities to primary facilities. We propose a two-index node based mixed integer programming formulation for the 2E-LRPSPD. As the problem is in NP-Hard problem class, a constructive heuristic algorithm based on Clarke-Wright algorithm is developed to solve medium- and large- size problems. The performance of the heuristic approach is investigated on test instances derived from literature. Computational results show that heuristic algorithm gives good quality solutions for medium- and large-size instances in a very short computation time. Thus, the contribution of this study to the literature is to present an efficient mathematical model for solving small-size problems and to develop a constructive heuristic algorithm that produces very fast and high-quality solutions for medium and large-size problems.Article A New Hybrid Scatter Search Algorithm for Solving the Flexible Job Shop Scheduling Problems(2021) Külahlı, Safa; Engin, Orhan; Koç, İsmailFlexible job shop scheduling (FJSS) is derived by inheriting the features of the job-shop scheduling problem. FJSS has an extra routing sub-problem of the job-shop scheduling. FJSS is well known as an NP-hard problem in the literature. A new hybrid scatter search (HSS) method is proposed to solve the FJSS problem. The proposed HSS method is integrating a local and global search for generating an initial population. The performance of the proposed new HSS method is dependent on the selected parameters. These parameters are the size of the initial population and reference set; the number of subsets, reference set updating and population sub updating; reproduction, crossover, and mutation operators, and their ratio. A full factorial experimental design is made to determine the best values of control parameters and operators for the proposed new HSS to solve the FJSS problems. The proposed new HSS method is tested on a set of the well-known benchmark FJSS instances from the literature. In this study, the error records opened by the end-users to the developers who developed the screens over the software development process in the Information Technologies (IT) group of a financial institution operating in the field of participation banking were examined. This paper has been addressed in order to reduce the operational risks that may arise during the resolution of the error records encountered during the use of the software. In financial institutions, customer satisfaction is closely related to the continuity of operational processes in financial transactions. First, the authors draw the current value stream map base on the approval and solution process adventure of these error records were handled in the processing logic, analyzed and a value stream map was drawn for the current situation. Then, based on the information obtained from the current situation, approval flow of the error records is simulated with the Arena simulation program. The obtained simulation results were discussed with the stakeholders of the error resolution process. Bottleneck activities have been identified through the current situation simulation outputs. A new value stream map has been prepared, based on the seven wasteful milestones defined in the lean production philosophy. Finally, the working style of the new situation developed was adapted to the process, remodeled on the Arena software and the new model was analyzed. The simulation results showed that the error/help call records decreased by 79.8% in the in-process return volume.Article ŞEHİRLERİN SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİRLİK PERFORMANSLARININ BİR BULANIK ÇOK KRİTERLİ KARAR VERME TEKNİĞİ İLE DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ(2019) Şepit, Ahmet; Paksoy, TuranEkonomik, sosyal ve çevresel aktiviteleri ile insanların genel olarak birlikte yaşadıkları alanlar olan şehirlerin doğaya çok sayıda zararı bulunmaktadır. Bu zararların önlenebilmesi için şehirlerin daha sürdürülebilir hale getirilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin 9 şehrinin sürdürülebilirlik performanslarının çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden birinin kullanılarak değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çevre, enerji ve sosyoekonomi alanlarından seçilen 11 kriter, uzman görüşlerine bağlı olarak ağırlıklandırılmıştır. Bu ağırlık değerleri illerin kriterlere göre verileri ile çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerine göre aralık değerlendirme yapılarak belirsizliklerin daha kolay ortadan kaldırılabildiği BAHP (Bulanık Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi) yönteminde kullanılmış ve sonucun bulunması sağlanmıştır. Uzman görüşlerine bağlı olarak kriterler arasından en belirleyici öneme sahip olan kriter “mutsuzluk” olarak hesaplanmıştır. Değerlendirilen iller arasından en iyi sürdürülebilirlik performansına sahip olan il Afyonkarahisar olarak hesaplanmıştır.
