Publisher: | Amer Scientific Publishers | Abstract: | Because of their acute toxicity and long-lasting effects on the environment such as chemical accidents, agricultural runoff, and industrial effluents, has raised concerns around the world. Semiconductor-based photocatalysis has gained prominence for its ability to degrade organic contaminants comprehensively, providing a potential solution to the limitations of conventional methods. This study addresses the environmental repercussions of dye contamination and explores the utilization of active semiconductor photocatalysts for effective wastewater treatment. Our focus lies in synthesizing CZTS through the hydrothermal route, a method gaining traction for its simplicity and environmental viability. To augment the photocatalytic efficiency of semiconductor materials, graphene oxide (GO) has been introduced with varying GO concentrations of 5% and 10%. Additionally, the study explores the performance of CZTS nanoparticles with varying GO concentrations for antimicrobial applications against seven Gram positive/negative bacterial and one yeast strains and its catIP: 203 8 09 20 On: Tue 11 Jun 2024 13:09:34 alytic prowess in the photodegradatin of methylne blue dye under ultraviolet light.
