Abstract: Universities, which are a developmental element of society, are expected to have relations with many areas today, such as industry, government and society. The university-society relationship, which is one of them, begins at the level of the city. In order for the university-city relationship to be optimal, choice of unıversities location must be made properly at first. As a result of the location selection decision made by conducting adequate examinations, the desired university-city relationship can be achieved and the development of the city can be positively influenced. However, the choice of location is not the only factor in terms of planning to provide them. The environment in which the university can benefit from social, cultural, economic and technical services in the city and also the city benefit from the culture and knowledge of the university must be set. As a result of this mutual exchanging university-city relationship can improve. Many universities today have tend to out of town. In Turkey, mostly universities placed outside the city have poor relations with the city compared to universities in the city. One of the reasons for this is that the artificial environment, which is required to establish the relationship, cannot be created or even this environment is created, it is located far from the city center. The fact that the universities in the city are enclosed and the environment where they can communicate with the city is not planned, again negatively affects their communication with the citizens. Therefore, there are many parameters that affect the university-urban relationship, particularly the choice of location decisions. In this study, the KTO Karatay University in Konya was examined in the context of its relationship with the city. It has been concluded that the university-city relationship was partly provided at KTO Karatay University, which is evaluated in terms of accessibility, socio-cultural and spatial terms, but that urban integration was not achieved in general.
