Today, noise is becoming a problem depending on the developing technology. Noise is called disturbing sound. Controlling the noise depends on raising the quality of life to higher levels. Although the intensity of the noise is not at a level that will affect human health, it should be reduced or eliminated. Due to the effect of the noise level on the health of the person; requires serious consideration of the issue. Sound absorption coefficients of the materials used in the interior play an important role in providing sensory comfort depending on the volume. Natural and artificial wood materials are used in interior design, especially in the construction of partition elements. Wood material is natural and has some important usage advantages as well as different disadvantages. In the study carried out to determine the sound absorption coefficients of wood-based composite materials used indoors, chipboard and fiberboard samples were used and covered with oak and beech veneers, and then their surfaces were coated with single and double component water-based, which does not contain solvent-based resin. The sound absorption coefficients of the obtained samples were determined by the impedance tube method and the results were compared statistically. It has been determined that the results can be evaluated within the frequency values, besides, different results are obtained according to the properties of wood-based composite boards, coating and water-based varnish types. According to the results of the study, it may be preferable to use oak veneer on the raw material surfaces of wood material-based composite material types and to cover their surfaces with a double component varnish. In addition, synthetic resin-coated particle board (chip) which is one of the ready-made boards can be recommended to be used primarily.en_US
