Abstract: Due to the increasing demand for raw materials in the world, the transition to the fully mechanized excavation system in the world has accelerated. One of the indispensable elements of the fully mechanized excavation system is the roof support systems. The roof support system is an indispensable part of fully mechanized excavation systems and is preferred in mechanized and semimechanized systems. The serial production of roof support, especially preferred in longwall mining, is not produces in our country. For this reason, this equipment imported from abroad experiences a large foreign exchange loss. In this study, the walking support unit developed under the Kosgeb project was introduced. Information about the support system was given and the studies in Yozgat-Sorgun, chosen as a trial coal mining, were mentioned. In addition, information about the types and conditions of use of the roof support systems are presented. Copyright © IMCET 2019 International Mining Congress and Exhibition of Turkey.
