dc.description.abstract | Adsorption is an effective and simple technique for removing contaminants in water. Thedevelopment and characterization of the novel adsorbent with high surface area, which is effective forremoval of arsenic from water, was targeted. For this purpose, calcination conditions on the structure ofFeHT, known as LDH was investigated. Fe-Hydrotalcite (FeHT) and calcined Fe-Hydrotalcite (K-FeHT)were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetry (TGA), differantial scanningcalorimeter (DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), particle size analysis and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) spesific surface area analysis. It was observed that the specific surface area of K-FeHTsignificantly affected by the calcination temperature and time. As a result of the calcination, H2O, OH andCO2 contents between the layers were disappeared, and periclase structures was formed. The surface areawas approximately doubled at optimum calcination conditions. | en_US |
| en_US |
