Abstract: The purpose of this study is to meet the requirements of healthy water for drink, usage, and irrigation in the densely populated region where the water resources are insufficient. Detailed geological and hydrogeological studies of the region have been carried out to identify aquifers that can contain suitable groundwater. Furthermore, the geological map of uzumlu region at 1:25.000 scale was revised. In addition, studies were conducted to prevent leaking water in the uzumlu irrigation dam. The geology of the Beyehir, uzumlu region, located in the central Taurides, consisting of different units can show different stratigraphic, lithological, tectonic, and metamorphic features. In the region, the relative autochthonous Geyikda unit and allochthonous Bozkr and Alada units are observed. It is extremely difficult to obtain groundwater in this region due to the facts that the area is highly affected by tectonic movements, and additionally the rainfall and the groundwater reception basin are not large enough. According to the hydrogeological map, the flow direction of groundwater is in two directions, towards northwest and southeast. This situation reveals the presence of a divergent nappe in the middle of the study area. It is revealed that waters are of similar origin according to the Schoeller diagram. In Piper diagram, it is in the class of waters with CaCO3. According to the Wilcox diagram, it is in the very good water class, and according to the US Salinity Laboratory diagram, it is in the C2S1 class and has the feature of medium salty and low sodium water.
