Abstract

In this paper, the achievable rate analysis of NOMA-based cooperative communication systems with best relay selection is studied. The cascaded Rayleigh fading channels are considered since investigations have shown that cascaded channel structure agree better with mobile network models such as inter-vehicular communication systems. A cooperative network where a source terminal communicates with a destination directly and through a selected relay among K relays is considered and the achievable average rate of this system using NOMA is found by computer simulations. The obtained results for cascaded Rayleigh fading channels in case of decode and forward protocol have shown that the average rate is decreased as the cascading degree increases. It has been also seen that for a given cascading degree the average rate performance of the system is increased when the number of total relays is increased.
