Abstract
Sanal gerçeklik sistemleri kullanıcıların, bilgisayar aracılığıyla tasarlanmış sanal dünyada gerçek ortamdaymış gibi hissedebilmesi amacıyla oluşturulmuş olan simülasyonlardır. Zamanla bu sistemlerin kullanım alanlarının sayısı artmaya ve uygulanma şekilleri farklılaşmaya başlamıştır. İlk olarak eğlence ve oyun sektöründe kendine yer edinen sistemler süreç içerisinde: imalat, sağlık, askeri, sanat, tasarım ve eğitim gibi alanlarda kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Bahsi geçen alanlardan birisi olan mimarlık eğitimi, görmeye, hayal etmeye ve uygulamaya dayalı bir eğitimdir. Bu sistemlerin derslere dahil edilmesiyle öğrencilere deneyimlenebilir, canlı ve görsel bir eğitim alabilme olanağı sunulmaktadır. Bu bilgiler doğrultusunda hazırlanan çalışma kapsamında, literatür araştırması yöntemiyle sanal gerçeklik sistemlerinin çıkış noktası ve tarihsel süreci aktarılmış olup sistemlerin kullanım alanlarına değinilmiştir. Çalışmanın odağını oluşturması nedeniyle mimarlık okullarında günümüzde verilmekte olan mimarlık eğitiminden bahsedilmiştir. Çalışmada, literatürde yapılan araştırmalar ve incelenen örnek uygulamalar aracılığıyla mimarlık eğitimi sürecinde sanal gerçeklik sistemlerinin farklı kullanımlarının sorgulanması amaçlanmıştır. İncelenen uygulamaların, sanal gerçeklik sistemlerinin mimarlık eğitiminde bulunan farklı anabilim dallarındaki kullanımını içermesine dikkat edilmiştir. Bunun sonucunda, sanal gerçeklik sistemlerinin mimarlık eğitiminde yer almasının avantaj ve dezavantajları belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.
Virtual reality systems are simulations created in order for users to feel as if they are in a real environment in a virtual world designed by a computer. Over time, the number of usage areas of these systems started to increase and how they were applied began to differ. First of all, the systems have a place in the entertainment and game sector; It has started to be used in fields such as manufacturing, health, military, art, design, and education in the process. Architectural education is one of the aforementioned fields, is an education based on seeing, imagining, and practicing. The inclusion of these systems in the courses is offered the opportunity for students to receive an experiential, lively, and visual education. Within the scope of the study prepared in line with this information, the starting point and historical process of virtual reality systems were conveyed by the literature research method, and the usage areas of the systems were mentioned. Since it is the focus of the study, the architectural education given in architecture schools today has been mentioned. The study, it is aimed to question the different uses of virtual reality systems in the architectural education process through research in the literature and sample applications examined. It has been paid attention that the applications examined include the use of virtual reality systems in different majors of architectural education. As a result, the advantages and disadvantages of virtual reality systems in architectural education have been tried to be determined.
