Açık Kaynak Kodlu Qgıs Yazılımı Altında Akış Haritası Tasarımına Yönelik Eklenti Geliştirme

Abstract

QGIS yazılımı özgür ve açık kaynak kod yapısına sahip bir Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi yazılımı olarak tanımlanabilir. Açık kaynak kod yapısı ve özgür bir yazılım olması sebebiyle günümüzde kullanımı giderek yaygınlaşan bu programın kullanıcı kitlesi arttıkça sürekli olarak geliştiği görülmektedir. Başlangıçta C++ programlama dili ile programlanmış bu yazılım zaman içerisinde Python programlama dili ile entegre hale getirilmiştir. QGIS yazılımının diğer yazılım dilleri yerine Python yazılım dili ile entegre hale getirilmesinin sebebi kolay ve sade yapısı sayesinde öğrenilmesi de kolay olan Python ile kullanıcıların ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda programı şekillendirebilmesi ve bu sayede programın sürekli gelişme imkânı bulmasıdır. Kullanıcılar Python'da belli bir yazılım bilgisine sahip olması durumunda QGIS'de hemen hemen her tür işlemi kodlar yardımıyla yapabilecekleri gibi ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda eklenti veya araçlar geliştirerek uygulamayı kişiselleştirebilir. Eklenti konusunda her geçen gün gelişen QGIS'de halen bazı eksiklikler bulunmaktadır. Örneğin iki farklı nokta arasındaki akışı veya büyüklüğü gösteren akış haritalarını oluşturmak için bir eklenti veya araca sahip değildir. Akış haritaları iki farklı referans noktası arasındaki akışı kullanıcılara sunan bir tematik harita türüdür. Bu haritalar özellikle ticaret, göç vb. konuları okuyuculara aktarmak için oldukça önemlidir. Ancak günümüzde CBS yazılımlarında diğer tematik harita oluşturma türlerine göre geride kalmıştır. Bu çalışmada herkesin kolayca kullanabileceği ve kolayca ulaşabileceği bir akış haritası tasarlama eklentisi oluşturulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda yapılan bu çalışma sonucunda başarılı bir biçimde akış haritası tasarlanabilecek Flow Map isimli eklenti geliştirilmiştir.

Due to its open source code structure and free software, this program, which is becoming increasingly popular today, is developing as the user base increases. This software, which was initially programmed with the C++ programming language, has been integrated with the Python programming language over time. The reason why QGIS software is integrated with Python software language instead of other software languages is that with Python, which is easy to learn thanks to its easy and simple structure, it shapes the program in line with the needs of the users on QGIS, and thus the program finds the opportunity to continuously improve. If users have certain software knowledge in Python, they can do almost any operation in QGIS with the help of codes, as well as customize the application by developing plugins or tools according to their needs. There are still some shortcomings in QGIS, which is developing day by day in terms of plugins. For example, it does not have a plugin or tool to create flow maps that show the flow or magnitude between two different points. Flow maps are a type of thematic map that offers users the flow between two different reference points. These maps are especially useful for trade, migration, etc. It is very important to convey the topics to the readers. However, today it has lagged behind other types of thematic mapping in GIS software. In this study, it is aimed to create a flow map design plugin that everyone can use and access easily. As a result of this study carried out for this purpose, an add-on named Flow Map was developed, which can successfully design a flow map.
