Hidrofobik Kaplama Yapılmış Karbon-Kenevir Hibrit Kompozitlerin Üretimi ve Tuzlu Su Ortam Şartlandırması Sonrası Karakterizasyonu
Abstract
The hybridization of natural fibers with synthetic fibers like glass and carbon has garnered considerable attention for producing composite materials that enhance mechanical performance while increasing environmental sustainability. These hybrid composites improve mechanical properties such as tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact resistance, offering potential applications in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and marine. Depending on their application, natural fiber-containing composites exposed to saltwater environments may experience water absorption problems. In this study, the changes in mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, and flexural strength of hemp/carbon hybrid composites coated with poly(ethylhexyl acrylate) (PEHA) using the Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) method were investigated after 1, 2, and 3 months of conditioning in a 6% saltwater environment, and their microstructure was characterized using SEM images.
