Abstract

The studies in the literature have shown that the opportunistic non-orthogonal multiple access (O-NOMA) based cooperative communications model provides significant performance improvements over classical NOMA-based cooperative communication systems. In this paper, two new criteria are proposed for an O-NOMA based wireless cooperative network consisting of three nodes. It is demonstrated by the simulation results obtained for Rayleigh fading channels that these new two criteria provide better achievable rate performance than the existing criterion in the literature.
