    02. Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences
    Konya Technical University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Computer Engineering Department was established in 1994 under Selcuk University, Faculty of Engineering and started to take students since 1995. It was incorporated into the newly established Konya Technical University in 2018. Computer Engineering Department aims to educate engineers with the skills to make basic and permanent contributions to the Computer Engineering profession. The further aim of the program is to give students the ability to continue their personal and professional development after graduation. This undergraduate program aims to provide students with the necessary technical competencies, tools, and personal opportunities to continuously improve their understanding, expertise, and professionalism. It also supports students' participation in international and national educational projects such as ERASMUS and FARABI, by aiming at international and national cultural and academic achievements.

    02.05. Department of Engineering Basic Sciences
    Basic sciences are a very important component of engineering sciences. A qualified engineer will only be possible with a quality education of basic sciences. Basic sciences have a dynamic structure and are especially affected by the engineering fields. The developments in the field of engineering cause new research topics in the field of basic sciences, and advances in these fields contribute to engineering and engineering education again. Mathematics and physics courses given to undergraduate students and engineering mathematics courses given to undergraduate and graduate students are the most basic applications. In addition, the Department of Engineering Basic Sciences is an important department that will provide the support of teaching staff for the faculty departments, whose the curriculums contain mathematics, physics and chemistry courses. Engineering Basic Sciences is a department that can act as a bridge in developing interdisciplinary projects, creating postgraduate education programs and performing joint scientific studies. In addition, engineering graduate students, who are at the stage of completing a master's or doctoral thesis, can easily and quickly get a support from the teaching staff of Engineering Basic Sciences for their needs in the field of basic sciences during their education. It is extremely important that both the course contents and the course process differ from the basic science education maintained within the classical science and arts faculties; especially, the applications of engineering fields are motivated during the course process and so the perspective of the students is improved. As stated in the manifesto of our university as “Pioneer of Development”, the Department of Engineering Basic Sciences closely follows the developments in science world and leads these developments with a competitive attitude. We organize our curriculums in an understanding that “aims to be employed in the private / public sector”, “encourages and directs to be a scientist”, and aims at the leadership of development, including modern / recent technologies and attitudes in the light of scientific developments.

    02.12. Department of Mining Engineering
    Mining engineering is a discipline that decides whether underground and open pit natural resources (minerals) are suitable for exploitation, and takes part in production, excavation, ventilation, transportation, mineral processing and similar processes with different methods. 80 of the 90 mineral types produced in the world are in our country. The resources of our country are extremely diverse and it is like an open-air museum both in terms of mining and geology. One of the most beautiful aspects of this profession is that it works on nature and land, and unlike other engineering, it has intensive field applied courses. Due to the rising importance of mining in our country, TİM and YÖK announced the scholarship support in the university exam starting from the 2020-2021 academic year, and it was also announced that employment would be facilitated after graduation. It should not be overlooked that this support is not related to the closure of departments and that incentives are given to these areas since the state cannot find personnel to employ. Young people who will work on mining in the public, private sector or universities will increase both the quality of the work and the productivity. The most important element of our department is job opportunities. Approximately 80% of our graduates are working in our sector by finding a job and 76% of them can find a job within 1 year. It ranks 7th among 70 professions whose graduates start working with the highest wages. In the current conditions, it is understood that the employment opportunities of our students who have graduated so far are quite good in Turkey. This shows the industry's need for mining engineering.

    02.11. Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
    To cultivate graduate-level engineers equipped with the necessary background in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, who have the knowledge and skills to investigate and adjust the properties of engineering materials and develop new engineering materials, and who can think analytically and have adopted the idea of lifelong learning, who are prepared for graduate studies and are capable of producing solutions to engineering problems they may encounter in their field, and who are observant of social, scientific and ethical values.

    02.08. Department of Geomatic Engineering
    Department of Geomatic Engineering was established as a part of Konya State Engineering Architecture Academy (KSEAE) with the name of Survey and Cadastre Enginnering in 1972-1973 academic year. First graduates were in 1977. In 1982, the Academy was transformed into a faculty and connected to Selçuk University as the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. And the department name was changed to Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering. The department was moved to Alaeddin Keykubat Campus in 1991. The education program become normal and second education with the establishment of second education program in 1992. English Preparatory Program was compulsory between 2001-2009 years but beginning from 2009-2010 academic year, it has changed. In 2009, the department name was changed to Geomatic Engineering. Konya Technical University was established as a new university with Additional Article-179, which was added to the law numbered 2809 with the seventh article of the law numbered 7141, which was published in the Official Gazette dated 18.05.2018 and numbered 30425. According to the founding law; the name and connection of the Faculty of Engineering was changed while affiliated to Selçuk University. It is connected to Konya Technical University with the name of Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Beginning from 2018-2019 academic year, the second education program was closed by The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) as a consequence of our requisition. Our department continues its educational and research activities in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

    02.01. Department of Chemical Engineering
    Chemical Engineering is a branch of engineering that uses knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, physical chemistry, mass transfer and chemical reactions in the design, operation and solution of environmental problems. Chemical engineering is a vast and versatile branch of engineering that deals with the development and application of processes in which the chemical structure, energy content or physical state of materials are changed.

    02.06. Department of Environmental Engineering
    The Environmental Engineering Department has been serving undergraduate and graduate degrees for 28 and 15 years, respectively. The numbers for engineer, master of science and PhD diplomes are 1440, 143 and 30, respectively. The research areas are municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, water recovery and reuse, recycling, production and management, water quality management, priority pollutants and indoor and outdoor air pollution monitoring and modelling. The academic personel consists of professors (5), assistant professors (6), and research assisstants (7). The Department's academic achievement is high as the number of SCI-expanded and emmerging-SCI indexed publications has reached 151 with an average h-index of 6.78. Several national (Tubitak)(14) and international projects (1) have been and are being conducted.

    To train geoscience engineers who can produce solutions in their profession, qualified, respected and beneficial to humanity by providing theoretical and practical teaching services at international level in accordance with the needs of the country. In addition, it is to be an internationally recognized and respected department in the profession by making applicable scientific research in the solution of the geological problems of Turkey and Konya region.

    02.04. Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
    The foundations of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering were laid in 1970 as the Architecture-Engineering Academy, and in 1975, it continued its educational activities as the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Selçuk University. With the establishment of Konya Technical University in 2018, it continues its education and research activities under the name of Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
