Review Citation - WoS: 20Citation - Scopus: 25Recent Advances of Gfrp Composite Cross Arms in Energy Transmission Tower: a Short Review on Design Improvements and Mechanical Properties(MDPI, 2023) Syamsir, Agusril; Ean, Lee-Woen; Asyraf, Muhammad Rizal Muhammad; Supian, Abu Bakar Mohd; Madenci, Emrah; Özkılıç, Yasin Onuralp; Aksoylu, CeyhunCurrently, pultruded glass fibre-reinforced polymer (pGFRP) composites have been extensively applied as cross-arm structures in latticed transmission towers. These materials were chosen for their high strength-to-weight ratio and lightweight characteristics. Nevertheless, several researchers have discovered that several existing composite cross arms can decline in performance, which leads to composite failure due to creep, torsional movement, buckling, moisture, significant temperature change, and other environmental factors. This leads to the composite structure experiencing a reduced service life. To resolve this problem, several researchers have proposed to implement composite cross arms with sleeve installation, an addition of bracing systems, and the inclusion of pGFRP composite beams with the core structure in order to have a sustainable composite structure. The aforementioned improvements in these composite structures provide superior performance under mechanical duress by having better stiffness, superiority in flexural behaviour, enhanced energy absorption, and improved load-carrying capacity. Even though there is a deficiency in the previous literature on this matter, several established works on the enhancement of composite cross-arm structures and beams have been applied. Thus, this review articles delivers on a state-of-the-art review on the design improvement and mechanical properties of composite cross-arm structures in experimental and computational simulation approaches.Article Citation - WoS: 68Citation - Scopus: 75Synthesis and Characterization of Electrospun Pva/Zn2+ Metal Composite Nanofibers for Lipase Immobilization With Effective Thermal, Ph Stabilities and Reusability(ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV, 2019) Işık, Ceyhun; Arabacı, Gökmen; Doğaç, Yasemin İspirli; Deveci, İlyas; Teke, MustafaPolyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/Zn2+ electrospun nanofibers that were a kind of polymer/ionic metal composite was successfully embedded in the hybrid fibers for the first time in the literature, due to chemical interactions between PVA and Zn2+. Also, the nanofibers were used as carriers for the first time in enzyme immobilization. The nanofibers were optimized and synthesized by electrospinning technique according to the operational parameters like as PVA concentration (%), Zn2+ concentration (%), voltage (kV), needle tip-collector distance (cm) and injection speed (ml/h). The morphology and structure of the nanofibers were characterized by SEM, XRD, ATR-FTIR and TGA. Lipase was immobilized on the nanofibers by adsorption and crosslinking methods. According to immobilization results, nanofiber enhanced enzyme stability properties like as thermal stability, pH stability and reusability. Lipase immobilized nanofiber protected 90% of its activity after 14 reuses.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 4Synthesis of New Azobenzo[c]cinnolines and Investigation of Electronic Spectra and Spectroelectrochemical Behaviours(PERGAMON-ELSEVIER SCIENCE LTD, 2021) Nalcıoğlu, Öznur Ölmez; Kılıç, Emine; Haspulat Taymaz, Bircan; Kamış, HandanA series of disazobenzo[c]cinnoline dyes was prepared by coupling reaction of 3,8-dihydroxybenzo[c]cinnoline with diazotised aromatic amines. The structures of these dyes were confirmed using UV-Vis, FTIR, H-1 NMR, LC-MS/MS and LC-MS/TOF spectroscopic techniques. C-13 NMR, C-13-DEPT, H-1-H-1 COSY, H-1-C-13 HMQC and H-1-C-1(3) HMBC spectra of dye 12 were demonstrated in this study. In addition, the effects of the substituent attached to the phenyl ring, solvent and acid-base on the UV-Vis spectra of the dyes were investigated. Besides, voltammetric and spectroelectrochemical behaviours of four disazobenzo[c]cinnolines (2, 8, 11 and 13) in acetonitrile (ACN) solution were also evaluated. It was observed that the disazobenzo[c]cinnoline derivatives indicated reversible voltammetric behaviour in acetonitrile-tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (ACN-TBAP) solution. A square-wave potential step method coupled with optical spectroscopy was used to probe switching times and optic contrast of the dyes. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
