The most important of these dangers is the possibility of radiation leakage of these structures, considering any adverse situation. Therefore, the strength and durability properties of concrete to be used in the construction of nuclear power plants should be designed with a good thought. This study aimed to produce a radiation barrier by using celestite, which is abundant in Turkey, in concrete mixtures at various rates. Moreover, calcium aluminate cement (CAC), which has high early strength, very high abrasion resistance and high resistant to chemical attacks, was used as a binder in the mixtures. Within the scope of this study, small rooms were created from concrete specimens, and the specimens were exposed to X-rays. X-rays passing over the specimens were detected with a hand detector placed inside the small rooms.
