The Hotamış formation (Quaternary) Bataklık member outcrops in the region. Sagging type sinkhole formations and surface deformations in the form of cracks and crevices are observed in the Bataklık member outcropping in the Sarıtopallı neighborhood. The thickness of the Bataklık member in the region varies between 9-11 meters. The Börücekyayla member is below the Bataklık member, and its thickness is more than 40 meters. In order to investigate the origin of these surface deformations, geological and geophysical studies were carried out in the region. Surface deformations were determined and classified in geological studies. In addition, 8 (15-meter) and 4 (50-meter) drillings were made to determine the state of the void and the characteristics of the facies and their lateral continuity. In geophysical studies, Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) was performed to determine whether there was a gap anomaly up to a depth of approximately 50 meters. As a result of the geological and geophysical studies carried out in the region, they were formed due to the fact that the surface deformations are very shallow and the surface waters in the region dry out due to climatic changes and the groundwater is drawn deeper. In the region, especially during the withdrawal of surface waters, cavities were formed at shallow depths. Surface settlements and cracks have occurred due to the transfer of non-cohesive sediment on the surface to these cavities. In addition, some of the surface deformations are also related to the loss of water of the water-saturated material on the surface.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessKonyaEreğliSurface DeformationClimate ChangeThe Origin Of Surface Deformations Occuring İn Ereğli (konya-turkey) Sarıtopallı RegionConference Object
