DSTATCOM provides the reactive power required by the SEIG and the load. It uses the DC bus voltage to provide the required reactive power. For effective control, the DC bus voltage must be constant at the desired value and the required reactive power must be correctly determined. This also requires correct estimation of the reference source currents. When the system is loaded with non-linear and unbalanced loads, if the load currents are not well filtered, the active and reactive components of the load currents will be incorrectly estimated. In this paper, an E2 PLL-based control algorithm with superior filtering capability is proposed for the control of SEIG loaded with nonlinear and unbalanced load. The proposed algorithm is tested under nonlinear and unbalanced load conditions.
