Abstract: Estimation of maximum precipitation is very important in engineering structures used in flood prevention and in the design of urban drainage networks. However, since extreme events occur due to many factors, it is difficult to estimate the future amounts of these events. Therefore, statistical analyzes are used to estimate future amounts of hydrological events. In the analysis of many hydrological and meteorological parameters, it is of utmost importance to determine the most suitable probability distribution to represent the parameter. In this study, the most appropriate probability distribution function (PDF) of annual maximum precipitation of Konya and Karaman meteorological stations in Konya Closed Basin during 1929-2017 periods was determined. For this purpose, 14 of 61 functions included in EasyFit package program were used and Kolmogorov Smirnow and Anderson-Darling tests were performed. For Karaman station, Log-Logistic according to KS test and Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) according to AD test were the most suitable probability distribution functions, while in Konya station Log-Logistics-3P was the most suitable function according to both KS and AD tests.
