Abstract: Model predictive control used in adaptive speed control systems can make inferences by predicting the future like a driver, taking precautions, imposing restrictions in terms of safety, comfort and fuel consumption just like the driver, and giving different degrees of importance to these restrictions. The importance of choosing appropriate parameter values used in model predictive control design was emphasized with graphics in the simulation study. When the appropriate parameter values are selected, speed and distance control gave the best results according to the results obtained. © 2021 IEEE.
